It’s about that time again. Time to start thinking about putting together successful raid teams, or plotting how to get into your guild’s raids. That’s why this week’s five are five of my favorite raiding advice posts that you can read and share with your raiding team to get things off on the right foot.
- Personal Accountability: A Raider’s Checklist.
One of the most visited and linked to articles in the blog, this checklist provides an overview for a conscientious raider of how to ensure they are bringing their A game to the table. - Friday Five: Five Must-Dos When Starting to Recruit for Raids.
Five raid recruitment rules of thumb. It’s not enough to fill those slots, you want to fill the slots with the right people, who will be a good fit for your raiding environment. - When Your Raid Leader Says Everyone, This Means YOU!
A discussion on why some players think their meter humping is more important than following a raid leader’s strategy, and how to correct that the situation. - Friday Five: 5 Things to Keep in Mind on a Progression Raid Night.
A reminder for how to keep your raid focused and friendly on a progression raiding night. - Taking Attendance: Raid Signup Etiquette 101.
Sometimes common sense is not so common as the discussion this post generated shows. Not everyone realizes how their behavior affects the other 9/24 people who sign up and show up for a raid ready to go.
In addition to the above bits of advice from moi, there have been some pretty helpful and thoughtful posts in my feedreader that pertained to raiding, as my favorite bloggers get back into raiding. Here are a few of the highlights:
- MMO Champion’s Cataclysm Introduction Raiding Guide. All the boss strats all in one place. You know you’ll need all this info for your guild eventually.
- Which Raid Boss Should You Attempt First? This World of Matticus post gives one raider’s opinion of the best order in which to progress through the first few Cataclsym dungeon bosses. Raiding is not all about linear progression anymore.
- Noobkin to Boomkin: Cataclysm edition. Battlechicken’s updated guide for how to be an awesome boomkin is a must read for lazerchickens before setting foot into a raid.
- Looking for More shared their guild’s big fat list of raiding policies and requirements. A good read if you are thinking through what yours will be.
- Jaded Alt has a great detailed post on Magmaw raid strategies,. Nice scannable format.
